BRING OLD SHOOTERS to SHOOT (BOSS) campaign

ladies, we have gone significant inroads in attracting new shooters thru this forum. Hilas (do you feel this lance) man paminawon, but it cannot be denied that oycom has in one way or another contributed a little to the growth of the shooting community.

now, as I was scanning the championship-rich history of the Cebu shooting community, I cannot help but feel nostalgic reading the names of past Cebu shooters, Allan Lua, Adrian Tadena, Dino Ang, Roger Yu, Christopher Cortes, Bryant Yu to name a few whom we rarely see on the range nowadays.

Some are still very visible like Bob Kahler, Lito Ladroma, Wetiak Chua, Nogie Biagan, Yogie Javier, Roger Uy, Tyrone Mercader,Pepe Rojas among others.

Some veterans too are helping us in this forum like....Franklin Horfilla, Dennis Panganiban, and the youngest looking veteran of all- DR. ALLAN SACRIS.

So many names, so many contributions by each and everyone..may I enjoin every forumite, to help in identifying more names so we can recognize and duly document their part of the Cebu Shooting History.

you may call it "hilas" but that is the reality, pre. team cebu/oycom group somehow was responsible to this minute development. one way or the other, the group was able to entice newbies (recruited or dragged to the range to try shooting) to continue shooting.

some veteran shooters who occasionally shoots but always present in every clubshoot are also encourages their long time range-buddies, friends, or kumpares to visit the range once again to shoot like what i have experienced recently... early last month uncle bob kahler introduced me to a veteran-shooting-doctor jojo aquino. i was so pleased to know that our veteran-shooter friends were also inviting their buddies to visit their respective gun clubs. with this development i would like to request all our forumites to persuade people to visit the range to shoot especially those who own guns. para mas mo alegre pa ang local shooting community.

when i was an intern and the rest of the 3 years i was a resident at Cebu Doc, nahimo nakong mentors ni sila sa shooting sports - Jojo Aquino(ophthalmology), Jojo Flordelis and Felix Vicuña (orthopedics) and Wyben Briones (neurosurgery).

dino ang - is into diving and spearfishing (shoot gihapon) hehehe

the doctors that doc alan mentioned like dr briones, visits kamagong once in a while.. the rest of the doctors go down south, a doctor friend owns a farm there and has slowly built his firing range.... and they shoot there on occasions... i do notice that most doctors dont shoot competitively but just loves guns.

but yes, its always nice to see people who has contributed to the growth of the cebu shooting community.

i saw Dino Ang here in Cebu late last year. yes, into diving and spearfishing sya kuno and he STILL shoots Production there kuno.
Chief, maybe you are referring to Dr. James Guardiario who has a farm in B_ _ _ _ _ _.(or were you referring to somebody else?) Dr. Wyben too has a farm up there in the Guadalupe mountains and pwede pud tira-tira didto(camera shoot hehehe)

i failed to mention Dr. Gayapa who has tons of FAs also

Lance, sorry my bad, the last time (if i remember right) WETIAK competed was last April 2009, during the Battle of Cebu at N.S. I've seen him visit Kamagong and CPRA sometime last year too with Justine.

Yes, many names I failed to mentioned Cesar Ting as one of the veterans still active.

Doc Allan, if you've been shooting at least 10 years, I do call that a veteran Laughing

Yes, Chief, a lot of doctors do have a lot of guns and they do firing at Dr. Guardiario's farm in B_ _ _ _ _.

so guys, just to have something to do this gunban..lets include this trip down memory lane and see the faces of Cebu Shooting Community ....BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!

yes Dr. Wyben has farm in guadalupe and camera shoot lang dyod. way back before i alway shoot also sa amo farm but lisod na karon basi ma bargohan tag FA ni Drego Lab_tad Crying or Very sad

dr gayapa i see once in a while in kamagong, normally with doc don garcia....

yup, same with Dr. Roman Cruz.

now, I know this is One-Zero's turf, maybe for the meantime he can mention here the very noticeable surge in interest on rifles... infact, if my observation is correct, many doctors are into rifles nowadays, many visit the range again for rifles. Sigi Doc, birahi mi ug trip to history on rifle interest in Cebu...

of course I have to mentioned that a Big portion of renewed gun interest is because of Doc tyrone's TV show- On Sight- with JULIUS LEGASPI, another EVER YOUNG LOOKING VETERAN of the Cebu Shooting Community... for those who dont know it yet, Julius Legaspi was already well known in the International Shooting scene as he was the one incharge of the website of the WorldShoot held in Cebu in 1999. yeah, murag mo-undang na gyud na si Roman, every time naay shoot, i always invite him, sige lang pud siya balibad or di motubag. yes, very much into diving and spear fishing ni sya. i always joke nga di sya mo shoot ug bigger fish basin madala unya sya sa lawm

the last time i saw doc roman was the oct rifle shoot 2008 sa kamagong.... kato mas dako pa ang dummy na gi rescue....

bitaw doc lan, i always tell them to be careful with spearfishing, daghan na kaayo accident with that activity and mostly fatal pa gyud... ask doc don garcia..

the shooting community in cebu is very strong and one way to bring these guys back is to be innovative and less bickering....
