Obet Yance (OYcom)

Obet Yance (www.obetyance.com,) OYcom for short is a website dedicated to all the SHOOTERS ENTHUSIAST who are mostly Bisaya-speaking Filipinos and are mostly based in the Visayas and Mindanao, Philippines. OYcom emerged because you have the right to know what's going on in regards to match results, event pictures, invitations and other events. OYcom concentrates more on forums, giving the members the privileged to post anything they have in mind.

I'm a Filipino with a little touch of Spanish blood and English is a language I'm not very fluent with in terms of communication. I was born and grew up partly in Dau, Pampanga. At the age of 8, family settled in Las Pi�as City to have a fresh start. After some time, father got relocated in Davao City where I continued my school days for a year. After elementary, I finished my studies here in Cebu. Now, my job requires me to go from one place to other from time to time. Aside from firearms or toy firearms (Airsoft), sometimes I'm also into martial arts, biking, chess, billiard, dart and lastly, testing the limits and boundaries of my intelligence versus the CPU of my PC; mind over machine. I'm also learning to love rappelling, wall climbing and scuba diving. I haven't tried skydiving yet but I wish to try it someday � frustrated military if you ask some. I'm an Artist by profession and a businessman by occupation. Most of my free time, I try to spend it with my love ones.

I've been into firearms for quite some time now. I was the 1st president of famous established organization in which I was one of the founders that we started back in 1997. Our SEC registered club and I have hosted a lot of well known events that�s why I know most of the local shooters here in Cebu. As of now, I am very busy in accomplishing an unprecedented national event. Fallujah (PROGUN president,) 3kings and Melbu (administrators of Pinoy Guns, an old well-known firearm website based in Manila) can attest to my leadership and character. I�ve know them for years.

Midyear last year, I asked a comrade of ours if we have local place for us bisaya shooters on the net where we could communicate or get match results instantly. He said, none. Now since computer and Internet is one of my hobbies and I am paying a top-of-the-line server (Php XX,XXX.00/month) with lots of space plus a domain name that I�m paying yearly and I haven't used it for anything useful... well I said to myself, �I might as well put it where somebody will benefit.�

I made this website NOT because I want to run for an office in any of the government agencies in the near future or step on any existing international, national or local firearm clubs here in Cebu. I made this site for the main purpose of giving the bisaya shooters a common NEUTRAL place on the internet where convenience is a plus regardless of club affiliation� and so last September 22, 2008, OYcom came into existence.

OYcom is being maintained and moderated by the administrator and moderators on each board that are assigned accordingly.
